That's me!  I'm Abe (Abram Grove)

I grew up in Southeastern Pennsylvania where my father was a preacher in two beautiful country churches.  The churches were blessed with many gorgeous stained glass windows and lots of heavenly music.  In those days, you know, preachers were very preachy.  During those seemingly endless sermons, I was often busy folding church bulletins into the best airplanes or simply staring at the play of light and colors in the beautiful windows.

From those beginnings I became an artist and a musician, graduating from Philadelphia Musical Academy in 1963.  Subsequently I attained an M.A.  from William Paterson College and proceeded to teach fine art  in New Jersey for the next 32 years. During that time I executed about 100 architectural windows, sometimes creating colors and textures not normally found in glass.  Establishing those attributes to the glass required the use of heat.  To help master these techniques, I  worked and studied with many recognized and respected glass artists and became very adept at imparting specific qualities to glass with the use of heat.  Application of these techniques led to the formation of Abe's Plates in 1988 and Abe's Plates Inc. in 1994.

With over forty years of experimentation, study,  and practice I have achieved the respect and been awarded high honors by the art glass community for my contributions to the art of glass fusing.  My work has become widely acclaimed and recognized.  As well as being past president of the New Jersey Art Glass Assoc. I remain president of Abe's Plates Inc.

Over the years my work has been sold in many stores, shows and seasonal juried boutiques.
